Early Bird Catches The Worm: Brunching

Brunch is by far the bomb.com in my opinion. I love breakfast food. Never ever do I miss breakfast, and what is better than having it cooked for you to a delicious degree whilst catching up with some old pals. In all seriousness I would brunch every week if I could but university doesn’t really allow for that financially. Similarly I’d love to see the two hunnies I went with everyday, but working and trying to muddle my worth through a degree doesn’t quite factor in socialising with the baes. However it is more than acceptable to do it once in while and this precisely how we do it.

I go to Cardiff University and live in Cathays, there is many a brunch place there, some of a nicer standard than others. This time we decided to try one of the newer places called Early Bird on Woodville Road it is a tiny little place but we had hear raving reviews. We had also heard that Beyonce had brunched there when she was on her Cardiff leg of the formation tour. It turns out this was a viscous rumor/publicity stunt by the newly opened café. I wont pretend this wasn’t the main reason we chose to go here, no shame, the stunt worked on us.

But to be honest no hard feelings as this was one of THE nicest brunches of me not so long life. It was almost ALMOST on par with Liverpool’s Moose. Different vibe so hard to compare.

I ordered an earl grey and the ‘Don’t worry Brie happy’ – cute af. This was essentially herby mushrooms on sourdough toast with melted Brie. Sweet baby Jesus it was a yes from me. Meg had the same as me and Leah had the Welsh Breakie – a classic fry up with homemade bakes beans, which tasted peng. The guys who served us was lovely, and very helpeful. They were selling different types of flour and fresh bread to take home. I was so tempted but we ended up a slice of chocolate cake as well – we brunch hard. The cake was delicious and the range they had on offer were ever so mouthwatering. Just writing this is giving me the feels, throwback to those Marks and Spencers adverts that were essentially soft porn. You know the ones…’its not just succulent smolked salmon, its M&S soft, moist, delicate smolked salmon’ – the word moist has appeared to much in that last paragaraph.

Long story short I went to the Early Bird Café in Cardiff with my friends and it was yummy. 10/10 would recommend.
